Theory Test and Hazard Perception
The theory is split into two parts; multiple choice and hazard perception. Both parts are completed on a computer. The multiple choice section is completed using touch screen technology. The hazard perception section is completed using a computer mouse.
The theory section will contain questions relevant to the driving test you are hoping to take. For example, if you are taking the motorcycle test you will receive motorcycle specific questions.
There is no difference in the hazard perception section of the test.
To pass the multiple choice section of the test you must answer 43 out of 50 questions correctly. You have 57 minutes to complete this section. After a break of up to 3 minutes you will begin the hazard perception part of the test.
In the hazard perception section you will be shown 14 video clips with 15 developing hazards (one clip will contain 2 hazards), with the possibility of achieving 75 points. To pass the hazard perception section of the test you must achieve a mark of 44 out of 75.
To pass the theory test you must pass both parts at the same time.
